“Dead Man Walking” Thursday, Mar 13, 2025 at 7:00 PM – Arnold – Robert E. Kauffman Theater in the Pascal Center for Performing Arts Opera AACC is presenting the most widely performed opera of the last 25 years!. ABOUT THE SHOWOPERA AACC’s spring production of “Dead Man Walking” is based on the book by the same name by Sister Helen Prejean. The opera, written by Jake Heggie and Terrence McNally, premiered in 2000 in San Francisco. Performances are 7 p.m. March 13, 2 p.m. March 15, 3 on the 16th p.m. in the Robert E. Kauffman Theater in the Pascal Center for Performing Arts.OPERA AACC is comprised of over 40 credit students working collaboratively with community performers/musicians, rising young artists, local professional artists and members of our world-class adjunct faculty. In addition, for this production, students in the Photography program are creating original projections, curated by AACC faculty member Matthew Moore. Quinton Folks, recent Peabody graduate and protégé of Marin Alsop, is conducting! A poor widow and her young disabled son, Amahl, are on the verge of starvation, when a knock at the door reveals Three Kings, each bearing gifts as they follow the star in the East. When Amahl and his mother learn the purpose of their journey, lives are changed forever. Each show includes an entertaining pre-show lecture, and a Meet and Greet the artists H’ors d’Oeuvres Receptions afterwards. Let us be a part of your Holiday Celebration.
